Shelley Penney My name is Shelley Penney. I'm a retired nurse (as you
can see by my picture I retired before the age of 65. :-) The bulk of
my career was spent in an active critical care unit. After many years
of tending heart attack and trauma victims, my final 2 years in the
hospital were spent as Resource Nurse in a new, very busy Day Surgery
Post Anesthetic Recovery Unit. By the time I was in my early thirties I
was ready for a change. Raising 2 small children, and working shift
work in an emotionally and physically demanding job was pushing me
towards the brink of burn out.

I left nursing and worked from home for a while, then a devastating
personal health crisis changed my focus. Once I recovered from my
health issue, I decided to move back towards my original life purpose
of helping people make a difference in their health and their lives,
while at the same time improving my own health.

Now I spend my time teaching others about "diseases" like
fibromyalgia... what are the potential causes of diseases like
fibromyalgia and how to start feeling better as soon as today!.

"Hey wait a minute," you say, "My own doctor doesn't know what causes
fibromyalgia, and if he knew how to get rid of it I wouldn't be reading
your web page!"

It's true that your doctor most likely doesn't know what causes
fibromyalgia. That doesn't mean I know more than your doctor, and I
would never claim to. Your doctor is so busy seeing patients day in,
and day out, that he doesn't have time to look into every new theory
that comes along. He relies on others to let him know what he needs to
know. The people that educate your doctor, once he graduates from
medical school are the pharmaceutical industry reps, and "peers" (other
doctors) who are educated by the pharmaceutical industry reps. He
believes in medicine and pharmaceutical drugs. I do too,
in RARE instances where your body just won't heal itself, but I do not
think that drugs are doing us any good over all and they absolutely DO
NOT cure fibromyalgia!

You already know that don't you!

If your doctor was helping you heal yourself with prescription
medications for pain and sleep, anxiety and depression and all of the
other things that go with your fibromyalgia, it is unlikely you would
